Puppy Preparation...Important Final Details

Your puppy’s go-home day is getting closer! This page brings together the final details you need as you prepare to welcome your Willow Creek Acres puppy home.

1. Your Reservation & Puppy Selection

Once approved, your $500 non-refundable deposit reserves your place. Puppy-pick order is determined by the order deposits are received. Our puppy-pick process begins when puppies are approximately 2 weeks old, and Willow Creek Acres will help guide you through the selection process.

2. Preparing for Go-Home

Willow Creek Acres puppies are ready for their new families at approximately 8 weeks of age. The remaining puppy balance is due at go-home time. Before leaving Willow Creek Acres, puppies receive a veterinary well check and are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming. Our puppies are not microchipped before going home.

3. Your Puppy’s Food & Go-Home Package

Both our Long-Haired Mini Dachshund and Rough Collie puppies are fed Purina Pro Plan Lamb & Rice Puppy. Each puppy goes home with a blanket, food, toys, leash, and collar to help make the transition into the new home a little easier.

4. Local Pickup

For families picking up locally in Elko, Nevada, Melanie and Jessica will schedule an individual pickup time directly with each family. The exact pickup details will be provided privately. Please plan to arrive at your agreed pickup time so we can give your family the attention needed for a smooth go-home experience.

5. Delivery

Delivery may be available for an additional fee. Please call Willow Creek Acres to discuss delivery arrangements, availability, and the applicable delivery fee. Delivery arrangements should be confirmed directly with Willow Creek Acres before your puppy’s go-home date.

Before Your Puppy Comes Home

We encourage you to have your home prepared before go-home day, including a safe place for your puppy to sleep and rest, food and water dishes, appropriate puppy supplies, and a plan for ongoing veterinary care.

Your puppy will already be accustomed to Purina Pro Plan Lamb & Rice Puppy. If you choose to change foods later, discuss your puppy’s nutritional needs with your veterinarian and make dietary changes gradually
