Both our Long-Haired Mini Dachshund puppies and Rough Collie puppies are fed Purina Pro Plan Lamb & Rice Puppy while they are in our care.

Your Willow Creek Acres go-home package includes food so you have some of your puppy's current food available when you bring your new puppy home.

Bringing Your Puppy Home

Going to a new home is a big transition for a puppy. Your puppy will be adjusting to a new family, new surroundings, a new routine, and many new experiences.

Continuing with the food your puppy has been eating at Willow Creek Acres provides some consistency during those first days at home.

If you plan to continue feeding Purina Pro Plan Lamb & Rice Puppy, follow the feeding guidance appropriate for your puppy and discuss your puppy's individual nutritional needs with your veterinarian.

If You Decide to Change Foods

If you eventually decide another food is a better choice for your puppy, avoid making an abrupt change.

We recommend speaking with your veterinarian about your puppy's nutritional needs and making any food transition gradually. Your veterinarian can also help you determine an appropriate feeding amount as your puppy grows.

Growing with Your Puppy

Your puppy's nutritional needs can change with age, growth, activity level, body condition, and overall health.

Regular veterinary visits give you an opportunity to discuss your puppy's weight, development, feeding amount, and when it may be appropriate to transition from puppy food to an adult formula.
